Norman the sensitive soul
For those who have visited our clinic recently, you may have noticed our clinic cat Norman sporting a shaved ear and some red sores on the outside of his ear. No need to be alarmed by the appearance, he is okay. Norman has some skin and food allergies. It is important for Norman that he doesn’t have any other food besides his special diet of Hills Z/D, otherwise his skin will become flared, irritated and uncomfortable. He may also become unwell.
Just like humans, both cats and dogs suffer from skin allergies. This can cause them to suffer from sores, flaking skin, hair loss and food allergies that also cause upset tummies and overall discomfort. Like us, our pets need specific foods and routines to ensure the least possible irritation to those areas. However, despite the red on his ear, Norman is still his charming self at the reception trying to get as many pats and love as he possibly can.
